ROB ZOMBIE In Talks To Direct Episode Of Crime Series?
December 7, 2009According to The Pulse of Radio, Rob Zombie is rumored to be in negotiations to direct an episode of a popular television series based around forensic crime investigation. Although the show was not named, it's likely to be one of the programs in the popular "CSI" franchise. No further details were given and no official statement will be released until the deal is officially done.
Zombie is reportedly interested in several projects as a director following his latest film, "Halloween II", and has said in recent interviews that he's also looking to break out of the horror genre. As for his potential remake of "The Blob", which was announced earlier this fall, Zombie said in a conference call with reporters that he's not sure when or if that will happen. "That's one of the movies that has come to me and there's talk about it," he said. "I don't know for sure that I'm doing that, and if I am doing that, I don't know when I would be doing that. So there's truth to it, but as far as when and where it would happen, I don't know. That's the thing with movies, you know: they take a long time to get made and you never know, something completely unexpected could come up in the meantime."
Zombie's previous films include "House Of 1000 Corpses", "The Devil's Rejects", "Halloween" and the animated "The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto".
Zombie releases a new solo album, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2", on February 2. He just completed a fall tour to promote the record's upcoming release and will be back out on the road shortly after the holiday break.
Two singles, "What?" and "Sick Bubblegum", have already been released from the upcoming CD. The album's arrival was bumped from last month after Zombie left longtime label Geffen for Roadrunner Records.
